1. Visit of Louis Bélet, with Arnaud Maître, Chief Executive Officer

Since 1948, Louis Bélet SA, a family business with over 130 employees, has been developing, designing and manufacturing cutting tools in tungsten carbide, PCD or ceramic.

LBSA’s area of excellence lies in the manufacture of custom milling cutters for the high-end watchmaking sector. Thanks to the quality of our tools and our fast response times, we have been able to set ourselves apart and become a benchmark for some of the world’s leading watch brands.

Creative, efficient in technical, ecological and social terms, our company has become a benchmark in the manufacture of shaped milling cutters and micro-tools.

Lukas Schmid, co-institute director, lecturer and project manager. Creative, chaotic physicist, never at a loss for a (clever) answer, has a weakness for classic racing bikes and would rather be found in the mountains more often. Lego Serious Player and moderator since the beginning.

Andreas Bauer, lecturer and project manager. CFO of the institute, Excel enthusiast with an ambitious penchant for fringe sports such as curling and golf. Tasked with keeping the creative, chaotic physicist in check during workshops.

IDEE Institute of Innovation, Design and Engineering

Every innovation starts as an idea. Ideas are born from creativity and knowledge, as well as curiosity about the latest trends. Innovation is therefore about thinking ahead and anticipating the opportunities and challenges that a company will face in the foreseeable future, as well as deciding how to exploit or overcome them intelligently. The IDEE Institute of Innovation, Design and Engineering at the OST – Ostschweizer Fachhochschule provides companies with support in this area.

The idea for the methodology was born in 1996, when two professors from IMD in Switzerland and LEGO Group owner Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen investigated alternative strategic planning tools and systems. They realized the value of employees and developed the concept of an evolutionary and adaptive inclusion strategy using LEGO elements as three-dimensional models of the company’s problems and challenges. The strategy was named LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY®.

The LSP® methodology is applied to:

  • Bring out PEOPLE’s potential and individual values
  • Develop TEAM, leadership and interpersonal relationships
  • Develop and validate ENTREPRENEURIAL STRATEGIES
  • Hold STRATEGIC PLANNING meetings
  • Organize and define corporate MISSION, VISION and VALUES
  • Create new PRODUCTS or SERVICES
  • Analyze scenarios and find INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS.
